• At least four people were killed and eight others were wounded today in a shooting at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, police said.
• Authorities say a gunman rammed a vehicle through the front of the church during a large service, began shooting and then intentionally set a fire that grew into a large blaze.
Police believe they may still find victims in the burned-out building.
• Officers exchanged fire with the gunman and killed him, according to police.
Investigators have identified the man as Thomas Jacob Sanford, a 40-year-old from the nearby city of Burton.
Thomas Jacob Sanford, the 40-year-old who police say drove his car into a chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Michigan on Sunday morning and then opened fire, was a Marine veteran who served from 2004 to 2008, a United States Marine Corps spokesperson told CNN.

銃乱射で１２人死傷、容疑者は射殺 米ミシガン州の教会

米ミシガン州グランドブランクの教会で２８日、礼拝の最中に車で正面玄関に突っ込んだ男が銃を乱射した後、教会に放火した。
警察によると、この事件で少なくとも４人が死亡、８人が負傷。全焼した建物の内部にまだ犠牲者がいる可能性もあると見ている。
容疑者の男は警察との銃撃戦で死亡した。その後の調べで男は近くに住むトーマス・ジェイコブ・サンフォード容疑者（４０）と判明した。
サンフォード容疑者はイラク戦争に従軍した経験のある元海兵隊員だった。当局は自宅の捜索を行うなどして動機の解明を急いでいる。
